Great product September 10, 2010 G. Iacobone (Bellingham, WA) Simply put, this is the ONLY flea product that works. I didn't want to use any chemicals on my cat, but after trying everything, Brewer's yeast in his food to diatomaceous earth on the carpets, to no avail, an acquaintance told me about Advantage. Within an hour, my cat stopped scratching. He is a tuxedo with a fair amount of white, so I could actually see the fleas becoming demobilized....kind of cool actually. They were all gone in less than a day. I was pleasantly surprised that the results lasted several months, but that could be just because he was (at the time) an indoor-only cat. I paid $40-something for a four-pack from another online retailer and will most definitely order from Amazon next time.
This is the real deal! September 8, 2010 JD Adams (Woodbridge, CA United States) I've tried everything to get rid of fleas and nothing works like Advantage. The worst stuff out there (Sargent's, Hartz) is oily, stinky and doesn't kill fleas. Collars are worse than useless and powders get eaten and make the cat vomit, without killing any fleas.
You get what you pay for. After applying, fleas are dead in about an hour. Overnight, the application area is clean and dry, and if the cat licks up a bit (which most try to do) it is not a problem. The scratching will stop almost immediately and your cat will love you. Spend the forty bucks and get the real deal, and forget about the fleas for a change.
good product; easy seller; excellent value September 7, 2010 Gran This product works really well to kill fleas and reduce the overall population. I live in a mild-weather area of California, so fleas can be a problem year-round.
Advantage Topical Solution Flea Treatment September 6, 2010 Mom of 2 girls (New York) Fast shipping! I wasn't happy with the product. It gave my cats sores and didn't work. For the price, it wasn't worth it.
Better half the dose twice a month September 6, 2010 Lizard (Florida) I don't care what the box says-Advantage does NOT last a month. In two weeks the fleas will return. I found that flea protection is best when you use HALF DOSE (0.4 ml per cat-this contains 0.8 ml per bottle), applied twice a month. For me this has worked perfectly. Now if you have indoor cats, you most likely will not need to treat your cat all the time. Use a FLEA COMB a few times a week to monitor the presence of fleas. If you see one single flea, get them all treated, but use HALF DOSE. That may all your indoor cat needs.
Once in a blue moon my indoor cats need to be treated, and this works well.
Also please vacuum your house. The flea eggs and fleas cannot and will not survive in vacuum cleaner bags, and is the best way to deflea your house, and include your furniture :-)
