Product Description OcluVet Eye Drops are scientifically formulated anitoxidant / antiglycation nutrients designed to aid in ocular health and clarity. OcluVet is given to help clear the lens of cataract densities and the diminished vision of older pets due to nuclear sclerosis. OcluVet Dosage Initial Administration:
Apply 1 drop to the eye 3 times per day for 6 - 8 weeks or as directed by your veterinarian.
Depending on the severity of your pet's condition, the changes you see may be very subtle. During the first few weeks of application you may notice the eye to appear smoother and/or brighter although the opacity is still present. Between 6 and 8 weeks (if not sooner) you should notice your pet navigating more accurately i.e. moving around furniture, catching treats, chasing a ball, moving around at night or in the dark, etc. Unlike our human patients, you should not expect the eye to go from white to clear in 8 weeks. It is interesting to note, in the manufacturer's clinical trial, we found reptiles responded more profoundly and sooner than birds, birds sooner than cats, and cats sooner than dogs.
Maintenance Administration:
Apply 1 drop to the eye every 24 - 48 hours or as directed by your veterinarian.

Eye drops June 13, 2010 Wilma A. Aquila I definitely saw an improvement in my dog's sight when using these drops. Expensive, but worth it!
"It's worth a shot" June 10, 2010 pdavis (Corpus Christi, tx United States) We rescued an 8 mo old Cavalier Spaniel with juvenile cataracts (she was scheduled for euthanasia); thinking we'd have the cataract surgery for her. An opth. specialist did not feel she was a good candidate, so we tried Ocluvet with his blessing (he did not recommend it, saying he couldn't advocate a medication that no double blind studies had been done). All of us thought "it's worth a shot". Four months of three times a day instillation later, the specialist rechecked her and was amazed. States, "I won't endorse this product, but I will tell you that I could NOT visualize her optic nerve before, and now I can; use it once a day now, and call me if you notice the cloudiness worsening. Before it was as though she was looking through the bottom of a Coke bottle; now, it's akin to her looking through a spider-crack in the windshield. The cataracts are not gone, but they are fragmented." From what I could see (and I am a nurse), the cloudiness, while not gone, is MUCH smaller. When we take pics of her, there is the redness of the flashback of the retina, which wasn't present on pics before using the Rx. The cost is worth the results we are seeing, so far. (and avoiding an invasive surgery that probably wouldn't work for her) We'd have to buy 20 bottles to equal the cost of surgery for one cataract, and she has one in each eye. It's worth a shot. Follow up with an opth. specialist to check the results for your pet. I'm elated, and the specialist is pleased with the results, although he won't attribute the improvement to the Rx. (The only other change we made was adding more betacarotene to her diet, carrots and sweet potato, daily)We will continue the drops and eye check ups.OcluVet Eye Drops 15ml
thanks for the savings March 2, 2010 Larry (chicago area) My vet wants almost 60 percent more for the same product. I appreciate being able to care for my pet and save money at the same time
very expensive eye drops March 1, 2010 Red Dragon (Alameda, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was hoping to avoid cataract surgery for my dog and bought these eye drops. These drops didn't make his eyes worse but not any better either. They may have provided a little lubrication for his eyes but his cataracts are still advancing because he is almost 13 years old. I know that we all hope that these eye drops which costs about $100 would take the place of eye surgery which runs into the thousands but you might have better results than me. I have used the drops for over 3 weeks. The bottle when shaken drips on its top and is a little messy and you waste valuable liquid. They need to design a better bottle.
Miracle Eye Drops March 1, 2010 J. Kraft 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
About two years ago my vet diagnosed my Bichon Frise with the onset of cataracts. At that time she was 11. He suggested trying OcluVet drops in lieu of the $2500+ per eye cataract surgery since the cost of surgery was prohibitive for my family. She has been on the drops for about two years and has almost 100% of her eyesight back. These eye drops are miracle drops! My vet also has charted the eye progress by looking at the back of her lenses every time she has had a check-up. The cataracts will always be there; however they have diminished to about the size of a pen point. I saw positive changes in her eyesight within a few weeks of use. Now she only needs a drop in each eye every other day. My only concern is the cost that averages about $35 per month. I wish the drops would be affordable so that all dogs could have their sight restored.
